Minnesota Vikings quarterback Jaren Hall and wide receiver K.J. Osborn sustained concussions in the first half and were ruled out for the remainder of Sunday’s game against the host Atlanta Falcons.

Making his first NFL start, Hall was injured as he tried to scramble toward the end zone in the first quarter. He was hit hard at the 1-yard line by Falcons cornerback Jeff Okudah and linebacker Kaden Elliss but was able to walk off the field under his own power.

Hall, a rookie out of BYU, was named the starter this week in place of Kirk Cousins, who tore his right Achilles tendon last Sunday.

Joshua Dobbs came in to replace Hall at quarterback. The Vikings acquired Dobbs from the Arizona Cardinals before Tuesday’s trade deadline.

Hall completed 5 of 6 pass attempts for 78 yards before he was injured. He also had two rushes for 11 yards.

Osborn was hit hard just after he caught a 13-yard pass, and he stayed motionless on the field for several moments as players from both teams gathered nearby.

Osborn, who had two catches for 17 yards in the game, was able to walk to a cart that took him to the locker room. He gave a thumbs-up signal to the crowd as he sat upright in the back of the cart.
