Victor Cruz Leaves Game with Torn Patellar Tendon

In one of the most brutal images you will ever see on the football field, New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz left the game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night with a torn patellar tendon in his right knee.

The severity of the injury was noticeable immediately after Cruz planted on his foot in the back of the end zone. And within minutes, the Giants were prepared to announce that Cruz had suffered the season-ending injury.

Cruz suffered the non-contact injury going up for the ball in the back of the end zone with his team down 20-0 in the third quarter. He was loaded on to a cart and was seen sobbing as he headed to the locker room.

In order to show some respect for the injured, we will not show it here.

It’s a huge blow to a Giants team that was riding a hot streak coming into their Sunday night football matchup with the Eagles. With Cruz now lost for the season, Eli Manning and Co. face yet another crossroads in a season that has been full of them.
