Usher will headline the halftime show at Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas, the NFL announced Sunday.
The game will be played Feb. 11 at Allegiant Stadium.
“Usher is an icon whose music has left an indelible mark on the cultural landscape throughout his career. We couldn’t be more excited to have him headline this year’s Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show,” Seth Dudowsky, the head of music for the NFL, said in a statement.
Usher has had nine No. 1 hits and 18 in the top 10 on the Billboard music charts since 1997. The 44-year-old is an eight-time Grammy Award winner.
“It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before,” Usher said in a statement. “Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I’ll see you real soon.”
Usher has collaborated with some of the biggest stars in music, undoubtedly leading fans to wonder who might show up on the Super Bowl stage alongside him.
Super Bowl LVIII will represent the fifth partnership between the NFL and Jay-Z’s Roc Nation to produce the halftime show. The 2023 headliner was Rihanna, the first year the show was sponsored by Apple Music.
CBS will broadcast the game.
