If you thought the Seattle Seahawks were the runaway favorites to win Super Bowl XLIX over the New England Patriots, think again.
According to this ESPN poll asking who fans thought would win the Super Bowl, New England actually garnered 55 percent of the over one million votes .
With the exception of the upper north west states and the lone state of Indiana, the Patriots dominate the remainder of the United States.
We’ll see if the people’s word proves correct this Sunday when the Patriots look to earn their fourth Super Bowl of the Tom Brady era.
One thing is clear here. Deflate-gate didn’t change the opinion of fans around the United States. There was some thought that the Patriots were going to do the impossible—make the Seahawks a favorite of fans around the country.
That didn’t happen.
