What an absolutely amazing performance from Brazilian flyweight star Amanda Ribas early in her bout against Paige VanZant in UFC 251 Saturday night.
Ribas had been getting the money in Las Vegas ahead of the fight, but no one expected her to submit VanZant at 2:21 of Round 1.
That’s exactly what happened.
More so than the quick victory, Ribas was emotional and pretty funny following the match. She had a heck of a time training with the COVID-19 backdrop in her native Brazil. It was legitimately the best moment of Ribas’ career.
Needless to say, the sports world took note of this brilliant performance.
