UConn, Purdue, UNC still 1-2-3 in AP Top 25

The top three were unchanged Monday as UConn, Purdue and North Carolina still sit atop the Associated Press Top 25 men’s college basketball poll.

The defending national champion Huskies (20-2) are No. 1 for the fourth straight week after receiving 45 of 61 first-place votes. The other 16 ballots went to the Boilermakers (21-2).

Purdue and North Carolina (18-4) are coming off big weekend wins against Wisconsin and Duke, respectively. No. 4 Kansas (18-4) moved up four spots after beating Houston (19-3), which dropped a spot to No. 5.

Tennessee (16-5), Marquette (17-5), Arizona (17-5), Duke (16-5) and Illinois (17-5) round out the top 10.

No. 16 Alabama (16-6) climbed eight spots, while No. 23 Texas Tech (16-5) tumbled the same number of places this week.

No. 15 South Carolina (19-3) jumped into the poll for the first time since 2017 after beating Tennessee and Georgia.

No. 24 San Diego State (17-5) was this week’s other new addition, with Oklahoma and TCU falling out.
