Matt Patricia’s first game as head coach of the Detroit Lions has not gone well. In fact, it’s been a complete disaster.
Through three quarters, Matthew Stafford had thrown four interceptions, the Lions had allowed long touchdowns on offense, defense, and special teams, and the New York Jets held a commanding 48-17 lead.
At one point, the Lions were booed off of the field.
This has all made Twitter a rather entertaining place.

Matt Patricia should have pulled a Josh McDaniels and stayed in NE.

Remember at the beginning of the game when they said that Matt Patricia would be a rocket scientist if he wasn’t an NFL coach? I find that hard to believe.

Matt Patricia seems to belong to the Wile E. Coyote school of rocket science

The good news for Patricia is that it’s hard to imagine it getting much worse from here. But clearly there’s a great deal of work to be done.
