When the Boston Red Sox opened up their series against the Baltimore Orioles on Friday, many expected Boston to win with ease.
What fans didn’t expect was the scoreboard to look more like the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens just went head-to-head. Yet that’s what happened on Friday in a game that was absolutely bonkers.
A game that entered the sixth inning with Baltimore ahead 6-0 ended with the Red Sox on top in a 19-12 slugfest. After it was all over, the Orioles were officially eliminated from American League East contention, not that it was ever going to happen.
Naturally, Twitter had fun with the crazy night at Camden Yards.
Red Sox on pace for like 80 runs against the Orioles this weekend. Pretty good I guess

The Red Sox have scored 19 runs tonight against the Orioles.
That is their most in a road game since April 12, 1994 against the Royals. They scored 22 runs that day. pic.twitter.com/rY6YSbbtYu

It seems both the Red Sox and Orioles forgot to bring pitchers to this game.

The Red Sox (19) and Orioles (11) tonight have played the highest-scoring game in MLB this season. The game is still in the 8th.
