New York Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard dominated early in Sunday’s start against the Milwaukee Brewers. Thor had a no-hitter through the first four innings. He also struck out eight consecutive batters, challenging the mark of 10 set by Hall of Famer and fellow Met, Tom Seaver, in 1970.
Hernan Perez ended both the K streak and the no-no bid with a clean single to lead off the fifth. But Twitter reacted to Syndergaard’s incredible streak, and overall dominance.
Noah Syndergaard will throw a 99 mph fastball by you, then come back with a 90 mph changeup. That’s not even fair 🔨⚡️ #LGM

Moment of silence for every batter that has to face Noah Syndergaard

Even as a die hard Yankee fan I’ll say it, Noah Syndergaard is just a freak of nature.

These slow motion vids of Syndergaard’s sliders & sinkers are disgusting. Will not be posting, as i have children following and these are too explicit.

Noah Syndergaard has more movement on his fastball than my girl on the dance floor #Mets #MLB

We even had fans of the Toronto Blue Jays, lamenting Syndergaard as the one that got away
Thank you @Noahsyndergaard for reminding us of the worst trade ever 😭😭😭 #BlueJays

I just awoke from this terrible dream where the #TorontoBlueJays traded #noahsyndergaard to the #newyorkmets and he had just struck out eight in a row, on his way to the record of 10 in a row by #TomSeaver.#mlb #baseball #bluejays #Jays #TheSix #Mets @Mets pic.twitter.com/gBKuta7Voa

Ultimately, Syndergaard’s performance was best summed up with one succinct tweet.
Best stuff in MLB: Noah Syndergaard.

You’ll get no arguments from us, or anyone in the Milwaukee lineup.
