The New Orleans Saints traded for cornerback Eli Apple back in October in order to fortify a secondary that had struggled at times this season.
While Apple has played well during his short stint in New Orleans, that was not the case early Thursday night against the Dallas Cowboys.
Apple yielded three catches for 67 yards to Cowboys rookie Michael Gallup in the first quarter alone. He also committed a holding penalty, which helped set Dallas up with a touchdown and a 10-0 lead.
An embattled figure during his time with the New York Giants, the former first-round pick was absolutely blasted for this disastrous early-game performance.
