Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott got a ringing endorsement from Hall of Famer Troy Aikman following yet another outstanding performance Sunday.
In response to a tweet sharing that Prescott is averaging 308.6 yards per game this season, which is more than any other quarterback in Cowboys history, Aikman tweeted “I say pay the man.”
We couldn’t agree more.
Prescott has passed for 841 yards and six touchdowns the past two games, is on pace to pass for more than 5,100 yards and score 38 total touchdowns.
He’s the reason the Cowboys are sitting atop the NFC East at 6-4. The team’s defense has been embarrassingly bad of late. Ezekiel Elliott and the offensive line has struggled. Amari Cooper is playing hurt.
Through it all, Prescott stands tall and is having his best season yet. In fact, we’ve argued that he needs to be mentioned along with Lamar Jackson and Russell Wilson as a legitimate MVP candidate this season.
In the end, Jerry Jones may wish he broke the bank before the 2019 season began, because every game in which Prescott shines adds value to his next deal.
