As part of their alliance and a broader relationship with Chevrolet, Trackhouse Racing and Kaulig Racing have swapped a pair of crew chiefs in advance of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season.
Travis Mack, who had served as the crew chief of the Trackhouse No. 99 with Daniel Suarez since its inception in 2021 will move to Kaulig. There, Mack will serve as both technical director for Cup teams and the crew chief of the No. 16.
That car will have multiple drivers this season, but only AJ Allmendinger at the Daytona 500 has been announced thus far.
Mack has scored one victory with the team, with Suarez at Sonoma Raceway in 2022, with 10 top-5s and 27 top-10s over 108 starts together. He will pair with Trent Owens, who remains the crew chief of the No. 31 in 2024 but will now work with Daniel Hemric at the highest level.
Meanwhile. Matt ‘Squid’ Swiderski moves from the Kaulig Racing No. 16 to serve as crew chief for Suarez at the No. 99 team. Swiderski won with Allmendinger at the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL in October.
“Matt is a proven winner with a dynamic engineering background, and we are confident he will pair well with Daniel,” said Trackhouse founder and owner Justin Marks.
Suarez enjoyed his best season in 2022 but regressed in 2023 and Swiderski is working to bring the 99 team back.
“Everyone sees what Trackhouse Racing is building and I am thankful for the opportunity to come to a winning organization and lead the No. 99 team,” said Swiderski. “I am looking forward to working with Daniel. We are both striving to achieve the same thing, winning. Every day we are going to work on perfecting the next steps that it takes to get more wins and compete for a championship.”
