Thomas Davis’ wife: LB been playing for weeks with ‘completely broken ribs’

Thomas Davis is one tough hombre. We already knew that, based on the fact he played in Super Bowl 50 with a broken arm that looked like a football afterwards. Now we’re learning of another injury the Carolina Panthers linebacker is playing through, based on what his wife said.

Davis’ wife, Kelly Davis, appeared on Fox News Edge on WCCB in Charlotte. She was there to promote her husband’s Defending Dreams Foundation charity Halloween party, which is taking place on Friday. While she was there, she shared that Davis has been “playing three or four weeks with completely broken ribs.”

The 12-year veteran has appeared in all seven games the Panthers have played this year. He’s racked up 25 tackles, two sacks and has recovered a fumble. According to Pro Football Talk, he’s played in “37 of 70 snaps in Week 4, 31 of 61 in Week 5, 55 of 62 in Week 6 and all 38 plays Sunday.”
