Terry Rozier sure sounds like a man who is ready to move on. The Boston Celtics guard appeared on ESPN’s “First Take” Tuesday morning, and he had a lot to say.
Rozier said he “put up with a lot” this past season in Boston and that he “might have to go.”
There have been bountiful reports of a fractured Celtics locker room this past season. Kyrie Irving even admitted he contributed to some of that with poor leadership.
Speaking about that issue, Rozier took a veiled shot at Brad Stevens and the rest of his coaching staff. He said that there were no room for adjustments because Irving and Gordon Hayward are who they are, and that he sacrificed his talent playing with them.
Rozier reportedly rejected a $12 million-per-year extension with the Celtics last year, and it sure sounds like he has no interest in coming back as a restricted free agent this summer. And based on what he’s saying publicly, things might have been even worse inside Boston’s locker room than anyone knows.
