Team Falcons sweep BetBoom Team in DreamLeague 22 grand final

Team Falcons defeated BetBoom Team for the second time in as many days on Sunday to win the grand final at DreamLeague Season 22.

Team Falcons followed up their 2-1 win over BetBoom Team in the upper-bracket final on Saturday with a sweep of their best-of-five grand final. Team Falcons sandwiched 46- and 59-minute wins on red around a 60-minute win on green in the grand final.

BetBoom Team seized a 2-0 win over Xtreme Gaming in the lower-bracket final on Sunday to set up the rematch. They recorded a 44-minute win on green and a 38-minute win on red.

Team Falcons, however, didn’t miss a beat in the grand final and pocketed 4,200 ESL Pro Tour points and $300,000 for their first-place finish. BetBoom Team picked up 3,500 points and $175,000 for their second-place performance.

Slovak Oliver “skiter” Lepko provided a dominant performance in the grand final for Team Falcons. He recorded a 2-2-9 kill-death-assist ratio in the first map, 10-4-13 in the second and 13-7-14 in the third.

DreamLeague Season 22 began with 16 top Dota 2 teams from around the world competing for shares of the $1 million prize pool. Eight teams advanced out of Group Stage 1.

Group Stage 2 featured one round robin of the top eight teams, and matches were best-of-three.
