According to Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were really asking for two first-round picks in exchange for Darrelle Revis before they were literally laughed at by front offices around the league. Revis is still a top-three cornerback in the NFL, but…Â
With a $17 million price tag and on the wrong side of 30, there is no legitimate way that Tampa Bay was going to even sniff a first-round pick for his services. Here is Freeman’s original report…
GM tells me Bucs’ initial asking price was two No. 1s for Revis. Around the league, they were laughed at.

The most Tampa can expect to get for his services, and this is a tad unlikely, is a second-round pick. Dude to Revis’ cap hit, the Buccaneers are looking more at a pick in the mid rounds. The fact that it was laughed at when discussing compensation for Revis doesn’t bode well for the fledgling franchise.Â
