Tampa Bay Lightning captain Steven Stamkos will be headed to his seventh NHL All-Star Game after fans voted him among the “Last Men In” on Tuesday.
Stamkos, who will play for Atlantic Division team, joined Colorado Avalanche center Nazem Kadri (Central), Anaheim Ducks right wing Troy Terry (Pacific) and New York Rangers center Mika Zibanejad (Metropolitan) in earning the final roster spots for the 2022 NHL All-Star Game in Las Vegas.
Per the Rangers, Zibanejad will not compete in the contest due to “personal reasons.” He will be replaced by Pittsburgh Penguins left wing Jake Guentzel, who finished second in the Metropolitan Division voting.
Stamkos, 31, has team-leading totals in goals (18) and points (46) in 39 games this season.
Kadri, 31, has recorded club-best totals in assists (35) and points (49) in 33 games in 2021-22.
Terry, 24, has team-leading totals in goals (22) and points (36) in 38 games this season.
Zibanejad, 28, has 35 points (14 goals, 21 assists) in 39 games in 2021-22.
Guentzel, 27, has team-leading totals in goals (20) and points (38) in 32 games this season.
