During Stanford’s season opener against Northwestern, starting quarterback K.J. Costello was hit with a brutal shot to the head and forced to exit the game.
Unbelievably, Earnest Brown didn’t get flagged for targeting on this vicious hit:
On Tuesday, Stanford head coach David Shaw announced that Costello is officially questionable to play in Los Angeles against the USC Trojans Saturday, noting the team hopes to have a decision before game day.
If Costello is unable to play, then it would fall to Davis Mills to once more pick up the slack. He took over for Costello in the Northwestern game and quite honestly struggled, completing 7-of-14 passes for 81 yards.
