In the midst of a difficult stretch that has seen them go 6-7 over their past 13 games, the Philadelphia 76ers are going to be without star wing Josh Richardson for the foreseeable future.
Richardson suffered a hamstring injury early in Wednesday’s loss to the Toronto Raptors. According to NBA insider Shams Charania, it will force the talented player out for at least the next two weeks.
This most definitely is not great news for Philadelphia. Acquired from the Miami Heat in the blockbuster Jimmy Butler trade this past summer, Richardson has been a stellar all-around performer for the Sixers.
The underrated guard is averaging 15.0 points on 44% shooting from the field this season.
Already linked to at least one big-name star ahead of next month’s NBA trade deadline, it’s not yet known whether this injury news will expedite matters for general manager Elton Brand and Co.
