By most standards, the Seattle Seahawks had a strong season in Mike Macdonald’s first year as head coach, winning 10 games. Though, the Seahawks did miss the postseason, so it’s not like everything went according to plan.
Yet, despite coming so close to a playoff appearance, the Seahawks decided to drastically shake up their roster this offseason. Gone are Pro Bowl quarterback Geno Smith and DK Metcalf. Sam Darnold is taking over as the new Seahawks starting QB, and Cooper Kupp is helping replace Metcalf.
However, the latest Seahawks rumors indicate the team tried adding another four-time Pro Bowler to their growing core of talent.

Seattle Seahawks attempted trade for Maxx Crosby

While we’ve seen the Seattle Seahawks make several changes to an offense that ranked 18th in scoring last season, what about the defense? So far, we’ve seen the Seahawks add a Pro Bowl defensive end in DeMarcus Lawrence, but they reportedly originally had a much bigger and better target in mind.
According to ESPN’s Seahawks insider Brady Henderson, the Seahawks even attempted a trade for Las Vegas Raiders four-time Pro Bowl pass-rusher Maxx Crosby.
“Before the Seahawks signed Lawrence to a three-year, $32.5 million deal, they talked to the Raiders about a blockbuster trade for Maxx Crosby. Lawrence gives them what they were looking for: a rugged edge defender who will be more physical against the run than the recently released Dre’Mont Jones.”
Crosby has since re-signed with the Raiders, inking a three-year, $106.5 million contract extension that keeps him in Vegas through the 2029 season. But there were never any indications that he wanted to leave the Raiders, the only NFL franchise he’s played for.
