The Seattle Kraken are wasting no time endearing themselves to teams and fans across the NHL. Since revealing their team name and logo, it’s been all about the 32nd franchise in league history.
Release the Kraken! Hottest Merchandise in Sports
According to Greg Wyshynski of ESPN, the Seattle Kraken merchandise is flying off the shelves. During the same time period, they have sold 50% more merchandise than the Las Vegas Golden Knights did after their reveal.
Furthermore, according to sports apparel company, Fanatics, the Krakens are the top selling team across all leagues. They are hot! You can buy Kraken merchandise at Fanatics right now before it goes out of stock.
Seattle trolls the NHL
The Seattle Kraken social media team is wasting no time trying to get under the skin every single fanbase in the league. For starters, their Twitter Bio reads, “now that we have a name, we’re strategizing all the ways to draft your favorite player.”
However, the funniest thing they did was release a video where they were welcomed by all other NHL teams. It’s pretty good stuff. See for yourself.
Welcome Seattle Kraken
It’s not all fun and games for the new NHL franchise. On the latest 31 Thoughts podcast, Elliotte Friedman revealed how much thought went into every decision they made.
“What I found really interesting is that they wanted the jersey not to look ridiculous winning the Stanley Cup,” Friedman said on his show. That certainly is contrary to this marketing blitz and social media campaign that seems chock full of lightheartedness.
