Roger Craig will deliver Lombardi Trophy to Super Bowl 50

Legendary San Francisco 49ers running back Roger Craig gets the honor of transporting the Lombardi Trophy on Saturday to get Super Bowl 50 celebrations kicked off, per Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle.

Craig “will carry the Vince Lombardi Trophy from a FedEx truck to its spot inside the NFL Experience at the Moscone Center in San Francisco at 10 a.m. Saturday,” per Branch.

No doubt the star of Super Bowl XIX wishes he could be celebrating the return of his team to the big game. While that perfect fate never materialized, it’s fitting that the league would provide a 49ers Super Bowl legend to present the trophy to his home city.

Another Super Bowl legend, Joe Montana, will also be attending the ceremony and will be reportedly signing autographs until noon.

Starting Saturday, the city of San Francisco is going to be a hot spot for fans and media alike as we all gear up for the Super Bowl, which takes place at Levi’s Stadium down the road in Santa Clara on Sunday, Feb. 7.

It’s going to be quite the party, and the game should be spectacular. The Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers bring the No. 1 defense and No. 1 offense into this game — a true strength-versus-strength battle.
