The NFL Shop can now officially start manufacturing Richard Sherman jerseys for San Francisco with his signature No. 25. For those waiting to find out if Sherman would keep his number, the answer is yes.
Defensive back Jimmie Ward is kindly giving up the No. 25 he has worn since the team drafted him 30th overall in 2014.

In convincing a teammate to surrender his number, compensation such as a nice steak dinner or a little cold hard cash is sometimes necessary. Though, we do not know if this was the case between Sherman and Ward.
Sherman already said that it will take a little time to get used to wearing red. Putting on a jersey with a familiar number should help out with the transition.
