Richard Sherman doing individual drills, still on track for start of training camp

Richard Sherman officially introduced as a member of the 49ers

As the San Francisco 49ers begin their three-day mandatory minicamp, they got some positive movement in the case of Richard Sherman returning to full strength.

Coming off an Achilles injury and subsequent surgery to remove bone spurs in that same area, Sherman has been targeting a full return to action at the start of training camp, for months now.

On Tuesday, 49ers head coach announced Sherman will be doing individual drills during minicamp and that the target is still Day 1 of training camp, per David Lombardi of The Athletic.

This is the first time since joining the 49ers that Sherman will be doing drills on the field in practice. During OTAs, he was serving as a coach on the field for the team’s young defensive backs, and that likely will continue all throughout the summer and into the season.
