Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is having surgery on his ankle Wednesday, NFL Network and Sports Radio 94WIP in Philadelphia reported.
The procedure is considered minor and Hurts is expected to be recovered in time for the start of OTAs this spring, per the reports.
Hurts, 23, suffered the injury in the Eagles’ Week 12 loss to the New York Giants on Nov. 28. He missed the following week’s game, with Gardner Minshew getting the start in his place.
Hurts completed 61.3 percent of his passes for 3,144 yards and 16 touchdowns against nine interceptions in 15 starts, his first full season as the Eagles’ starting quarterback. He also led the team in rushing (784 yards) to go with 10 rushing touchdowns. Hurts also sat out Week 18 against Dallas to rest ahead of the Eagles’ wild-card game, a 31-15 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Eagles are fully behind Hurts as their starter in 2022.
