Chicago Bulls star Zach LaVine is expected to miss one to two weeks due to a sprained right ankle, multiple outlets reported Friday night.
LaVine injured the ankle early in the third quarter of Chicago’s 116-110 road victory over the Toronto Raptors on Thursday.
LaVine couldn’t put any weight on the ankle after the injury and was hopping on his left foot. He return for stints in the third and fourth quarters before exiting for good with 7 1/2 minutes to go. He scored eight points in 24 minutes.
The Bulls host the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday. The team listed LaVine as doubtful on Friday afternoon, prior to reports of a more serious injury.
The two-time All-Star missed 17 games earlier this season due to a foot injury. The Bulls went 10-7 in his absence. He returned from the injury on Jan. 5.
LaVine is averaging 19.5 points and 5.2 rebounds in 25 games (23 starts) this season.
