While the New York Yankees may not land one of the star hitters in free agency, they just signed one of the top relievers in a move to further strengthen an already great bullpen.
According to Jeff Passan of ESPN, New York has reached an agreement on a deal with right-handed reliever Adam Ottavino to a three-year deal worth $27 million.

Ottavino was phenomenal during the 2018 season despite making half his starts at Coors Field. Across 77.2 innings, the 33-year-old surrendered a 2.43 ERA with 112 strikeouts and held opposing hitters to a .154 batting average.
The move comes not long after the Yankees signed Zach Britton to a multi-year deal with their front office showing a clear commitment to making the bullpen a major strength over the next few years.
While they didn’t spend the big money on a star, the Yankees significantly strengthened their roster for the 2019 season with the additions of DJ LeMahieu, Troy Tulowitzki and James Paxton.
