Just two days before the 2017 NFL Draft kicks off, a disturbing report has emerged about a top prospect who is being accused of sexual assault.
Per WOIO Cleveland 19 News, “The accused is a college football player who is expected to be taken in the first round of Thursday’s NFL Draft.”
WOIO is not naming the player at this time until it receives a police report, noting no official charges have been levied against said unnamed player. The player’s attorney, Kevin Spellacy, has called the charges, “ludicrous and ridiculous.”
“In my opinion this young lady is an opportunist and it’s actually despicable,” said Spellacy.
The alleged incident reportedly occurred at a hotel in Cleveland, where “a group left there to go to the Westin for a hotel room party.” Spellacy says his client was never alone with the alleged victim and that three witnesses would be willing to say the player did nothing wrong.
Additionally, Spellacy said he’s willing to allow his client to speak about this, but not before the draft. It’s hard to imagine the name of this player won’t emerge before the draft as leaks occur on a regular basis on matters of this nature.
The name of the unnamed player under investigation will likely be out soon. I've already heard it from two different people whom I trust.

This would certainly cause teams to avoid selecting him whether he’s innocent or guilty of the charges.
