Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Cole Holcomb will miss the rest of the season due to a left knee injury suffered in Thursday night’s win over the Tennessee Titans, according to multiple media reports.

Holcomb, 27, was discharged from a Pittsburgh area hospital Friday morning after staying overnight for precautionary reasons. A full recovery is expected, per an ESPN report.

Holcomb was injured while chasing after Tennessee’s DeAndre Hopkins on a 29-yard gain late in the opening quarter. Pittsburgh safety Keanu Neal also was in pursuit and his left leg slammed into Holcomb’s leg as he passed by.

Holcomb’s leg bent awkwardly after the contact. He immediately grabbed for his left knee after falling to the ground and was eventually carted off.

Holcomb is in his first season with the Steelers after spending his first four NFL seasons with the Washington Commanders. He had 52 tackles and two forced fumbles entering the contest, playing 77 percent of defensive snaps in eight games.
