Report: San Diego Chargers Re-sign Brandon Flowers

There are numerous top-tier free agents heading back to their old teams prior to the official start of the new league year on Tuesday.

According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, San Diego Chargers cornerback Brandon Flowers is among that group of players. Schefter is reporting that Flowers has agreed to a four-year deal with the team.

This past year saw Flowers return to Pro Bowl form after a down season with the Kansas City Chiefs. Flowers, 29, recorded 52 tackles, 10 passes defended and three interceptions. He also graded out as the 16th-best cover corner, according to official Pro Football Focus metrics (subscription required).

NFL Media’s Albert Breer is reporting that the deal is worth $36 million over four seasons.

It’s a big deal for a Chargers team that can now look forward to teaming Flowers up with former first-round pick Jason Verrett for an entire season. That duo has a chance to be the best in the entire NFL next year.
