The Cleveland Browns won’t see Robert Griffin III on the field any time soon. He was placed on the IR on Monday after suffering a shoulder fracture, per Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

This is a huge blow to a franchise that had hoped RG3 would be the answer to the ever-present quarterback conundrum it has faced since 1999.
Head coach Hue Jackson issued the following statement on Monday:

Griffin III did have a really rough outing in Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles, completing 12-of-26 passes for just 190 yards with no touchdowns and an interception.
Now it will be up to veteran Josh McCown, who led the team to a 1-7 record in the eight games he started last year.
