Rob Ryan will join the Las Vegas Raiders as a senior defensive assistant, ESPN reported on Saturday.

Ryan, 59, spent five seasons with the then-Oakland Raiders as their defensive coordinator from 2004-08. He was the Baltimore Ravens’ inside linebackers coach during the 2021 NFL season, however the team cut ties with him after defensive coordinator Don “Wink” Martindale departed last month.

In addition to serving as a defensive coordinator with the Raiders, Ryan held that post with the Cleveland Browns (2009-10), Dallas Cowboys (2011-12) and New Orleans Saints (2013-15).

Ryan also worked as defensive backs coach with the Arizona Cardinals (1994-95), linebackers coach with the New England Patriots (2000-03), assistant head coach/defense with the Buffalo Bills (2016) and inside linebackers coach with the Washington franchise (2019).
