Report: Ravens sign OL Andre Smith ahead of playoff opener

The Baltimore Ravens are looking for more depth as they prepare for their AFC Divisional Playoff game against the Tennessee Titans this weekend.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Baltimore has signed former Cincinnati Bengals first-round pick and starting left tackle Andre Smith. He takes the place of injured guard Parker Ehinger on the team’s 53-man roster.

Smith, 32, started five games for the Bengals earlier this season before being waived. He’s started 98 games in 11 NFL seasons after being selected No. 6 overall back in 2009.

The hope for Baltimore is that this is nothing more than a depth move and that Smith does not see the field.

The Ravens open up their quest for a Super Bowl Saturday evening at M&T Bank Stadium as heavy favorites over a Titans team that shockingly defeated the Patriots last week.
