Report: Phillies to meet with three in second round of interviews

The Philadelphia Phillies have apparenly narrowed their managerial search down to three after firing Gabe Kepler.

According to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com, Philadelphia will meet with a second time with candidates Dusty Baker, Buck Showalter and Joe Girardi. An announcement could be made some time next week.

All three were original candidates. Now that they are receiving second interviews, it stands to reason that the race is between the trio.

It’s also rather obvious that Phillies general manager Matt Klentak is looking for experience.

Baker, Showalter and Girardi have a combined 55 years of managerial experience under their belts.
