The NFL has decided to join other professional sports leagues in North America in putting a halt to activities as the coronavirus pandemic spreads across the continent.
With teams already upset over the lack of action from the league, the NFL has reportedly decided to cancel its annual spring meeting.
The meeting was scheduled for March 29-April 1 in Palm Beach, Florida. There was absolutely no reason for this to take place given the heightened number of coronavirus cases and the World Health Organization (WHO) categorizing the virus as a pandemic earlier in the week.
Per the release, it has now been rescheduled for Los Angeles in May.
This comes with the NFL’s league year and free agency expected to start on March 18. That still appears to be on the table.
It also comes with all three major professional sports leagues currently in the midst of their seasons deciding to suspend play.
