Major League Baseball reportedly handed down its punishment to the Houston Astros after allegations of sign-stealing during their World Series season of 2017.
It’s no small punishment. Manager A.J. Hinch and general manager Jeff Luhnow have both been suspended for a calendar year.
Jeff Passan of ESPN also noted that the Astros have been fined $5 million and will be stripped of their first-round pick and second-round pick in each of the next two MLB Drafts.
There’s obviously going to be a lot more coming out of this. But MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred and Co. came down hard on the Astros.
