The Orlando Magic are currently the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference with a substandard 21-28 record. Multiple teams will be vying for the right to be swept by the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round of the NBA Playoffs.
It appears that Orlando’s current standing has not impacted the team’s long-term plans. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Magic are currently having discussions surrounding star forward Aaron Gordon ahead of Thursday’s NBA trade deadline.
“Aaron Gordon is a player they’ve had some discussions about,” Woj said on a recent podcast. “I think t’s a tricky one to trade him right now.”
Gordon, 24, has seen a downtick in production this season. He’s averaging 13.5 points and 7.1 rebounds on 42% shooting from the field. Each number would represent a three-year low for the athletic 6-foot-9 forward.
Despite this, there would be some major interest in the youngster on the trade market. He’s seen as a dynamic young player who could use a change of scenery.
