Arizona Cardinals cornerback Josh Shaw is reportedly dropping his appeal of the one-year gambling suspension the NFL levied against him.
This news comes by way of Barry Wilner of the Associated Press, citing a source with knowledge of the move.
Shaw was busted for gambling — against his own team, no less — in Las Vegas while he was away from the team on injured reserve. Originally, Shaw indicated he would appeal, and he said his decision to bet on NFL games was an innocent mistake.
Shaw is suspended at least until the end of the 2020 NFL season. The good news is that the NFL did not find any evidence showing Shaw used insider information to place his wagers, and did not find that anyone from the Cardinals was aware of his actions.
