One day after starting quarterback Nick Foles went down with a clacivle injury that’s going to force him on to short-term injured reserve, the Jacksonville Jaguars have reportedly added another veteran to the mix.
According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, Jacksonville has acquired Josh Dobbs from the Pittsburgh Steelers for a fifth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Dobbs had fallen behind Mason Rudolph as the top backup to Ben Roethlisberger in Pittsburgh.
A fourth-round pick back in 2017, Dobbs has thrown 12 career regular-season passes. He’ll back up rookie Gardner Minshew until Foles is able to return.
