In Monday night’s game against the host Toronto Raptors, the Charlotte Hornets may be without forward Miles Bridges, who has been denied entry into Canada, according to Charlotte radio host Kyle Bailey.

The Hornets are reportedly working to have the decision reversed, but it’s unclear whether they’ll be able to do so prior to the 7:30 p.m. ET tip-off time.

On Sunday, Bridges raised eyebrows when he sent, then quickly deleted, a tweet that said, “Got denied in the 6.”

No clear information has been provided regarding the reason for Bridges’ alleged denial into Canada, but it’s likely related to numerous legal issues Bridges is facing.

In June of 2022, he was charged with multiple felony counts of domestic violence. Two of the charges were dropped, and Bridges ultimately pled no contest to a felony charge of injuring a child’s parent. He was able to avoid jail time but was given three years of probation and required to complete counseling, parenting classes, community service and narcotics testing, and was barred from owning a firearm. He was also ordered to stay away from the victim.

However, earlier this fall, Bridges was in trouble again, facing allegations of violating the protective order in the June 2022 case, as well as new charges of child abuse and injury to personal property related to a threatening incident involving his former girlfriend while their children were nearby. An initial court date on the newest allegations was rescheduled from Nov. 13 to Feb. 20.

Related to the June 2022 arrest, in April of this year Bridges was given a 30-game suspension by the NBA, with 20 games credited for time served. He served 10 games of the suspension at the beginning of this season.

In 14 games this season, Bridges is averaging 19.6 points and 7.2 rebounds. The Hornets are looking up from fourth place in the Southeast Division at 7-17 going into Monday’s game.
