The dramatic fall from grace of former Arizona Cardinals first-round pick Robert Nkemdiche took another sad turn on Wednesday.
According to ESPN’s Field Yates, the free agent has been suspended two games by the NFL. The reasoning behind said suspension is not yet known. Though, he did have a run in with the law during his Cardinals days. That likely played a role here.
Nkemdiche, 25, was claimed off waivers by the Miami Dolphins earlier this year. He played two games with the team, appearing on the field for 18 snaps and not recording a single stat before being released.
That came on the heels of the 2016 first-round pick being waived by Arizona ahead of the start of the regular season.
Nkemdiche, 25, has suffered through numerous injuries throughout his three-plus years in the NFL, most of them being contributed to him being out of shape. That’s what led to the former Mississippi star being released by the Cardinals in the first place.
He’s recorded all of 44 tackles and 4.5 sacks since entering the NFL.
