The 2020 MLB offseason is loaded with impact players and free agent outfielder Marcell Ozuna is reportedly drawing significant interest from five teams.
According to MLB Network’s Jon Morosi, the Texas Rangers, Arizona Diamondbacks, Cincinnati Reds, Atlanta Braves and St. Louis Cardinals are heavily involved in a pursuit of the slugger’s bat.
According to the report, the significant interest is expected to result in Ozuna potentially landing a five-year deal.
The 29-year-old is coming off a season that saw him post a .800 OPS with 29 home runs, 89 RBI and 12 stolen bases in 131 games for the Cardinals. He stepped up in the postseason with two home runs, four doubles and a .954 OPS across 37 at-bats.
While Ozuna is no longer the Gold Glove-caliber defender we saw during his time with the Miami Marlins, he’s a force with the bat and can play both corner outfield spots.
