The Philadelphia Eagles are waiving defensive end Derek Barnett on Friday, ESPN reported.
Barnett, 27, has been listed as a non-participant in practice this week due to personal reasons.
He has played only 99 defensive snaps in eight games (no starts) this season, recording three tackles. He was coming back from a torn ACL sustained in the 2022 season opener.
Philadelphia drafted Barnett with the 14th overall pick in 2017.
Barnett has recorded 21.5 sacks, 76 quarterback hits and three fumble recoveries in 73 career games (45 starts).
The Eagles restructured his contract for 2023, reportedly agreeing to pay him a guaranteed $3.5 million salary plus bonuses and incentives.
Philadelphia hosts the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
