It might not take on as much importance as the multiple Super Bowls they have played against one another. But the Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys are set to open up the 2020 NFL season in Canton this coming summer.
According to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, these two legendary squads will do battle in the Hall of Fame Game on August 6.
This should not come as too much of a surprise. Former Steelers head coach Bill Cowher and his counterpart with the Cowboys, Jimmy Johnson, are among two of 20 individuals who will be enshrined into the Hall that weekend. In addition to these two, former Steelers great Troy Polamalu will also be getting the call.
The game will take on new meaning with both Cowher and Johnson on hand to receive the greatest individual honor in the football world. They are among a rare class of a couple handfuls of former coaches to make it to Canton.
