Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor sustained a thumb injury in Sunday’s win against Tampa Bay, NFL Network reported Tuesday.
The injury requires further testing and “puts his status in doubt going forward,” per the report.
Taylor, 24, ran for 91 yards and two touchdowns in the 27-20 victory against the Buccaneers.
He ranks second on the Colts (6-5) with 414 rushing yards and four touchdowns in seven games (five starts) this season. Taylor also has 16 catches for 137 yards and one score.
The 2021 NFL rushing champion has gained 5,194 yards from scrimmage and scored 41 touchdowns in 50 games (46 starts) since the Colts drafted him in the second round in 2020.
Zack Moss has a team-high 672 rushing yards and five TDs for the Colts, who visit the Tennessee Titans (4-7) on Sunday.
