Already without starting quarterback Carson Palmer, the Arizona Cardinals could be without backup Drew Stanton the next couple of weeks, too.
According to Chris Mortensen of ESPN, Stanton has a sprained knee, meaning it could be Blaine Gabbert time in Arizona.
Sources: Drew Stanton sprained knee Thursday. Blaine Gabbert starts at Houston week 11 if Stanton can’t go. Matt Barkley being brought back.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter followed up Mortensen’s report by noting Stanton “could miss a game or two” with this injury.
The good news for Cardinals fans is that head coach Bruce Arians has previously expressed high confidence in Gabbert, even if what he said was a bit crazy based on everything we’ve seen with our eyeballs.
Arizona, now at 4-5 on the season after losing to the Seattle Seahawks at home Thursday night, is three games back in the loss column to the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC West. Given the team’s injuries, a playoff run seems highly unlikely. Unless, that is, Gabbert puts on a Superman cape and rescues this flailing team in the coming weeks.
