The Washington Redskins announced on Tuesday that they have placed three players on Injured Reserve. The list includes Pro Bowl tight end Jordan Reed.
“While Reed had missed the last six games with a hamstring injury, his placement on Injured Reserve ends a season in which he was plagued by injuries from the onset of training camp,” Stephen Czarda of Redskins.com noted. “Reed was originally placed on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list with a toe injury at the start of the team’s activities at the Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center in Richmond, Va.”
Reed is just one of many Redskins who have dealt with injuries this season. That’s all contributed to the Washington’s 5-8 record, despite being in most of its games.
Unfortunately, Reed is no stranger to missed time. The 2017 season was his fifth in the NFL and he’s still yet to play more than 14 games in a single season.
But even with his injury history, 2017 was objectively the worst season of Reed’s career. He set new career lows in games played (six), receptions (27), and receiving yards (211).
