The Cincinnati Reds re-signed right-handed reliever Buck Farmer on Thursday.
Farmer, who became a free agent after last season, signed a one-year, $2.25 million deal.
The contract also contains $350,000 in performance bonuses, based on games pitched, and tops out at 65 appearances.
Farmer, 32, made 71 appearances last season and was 4-5 with a 4.20 ERA. He struck out 70 in 75 innings.
Overall, Farmer is 21-28 with a 4.98 ERA in 356 appearances (21 starts) in 10 seasons with the Detroit Tigers (2014-21) and Reds.
Cincinnati also designated outfielder Bubba Thompson for assignment to open a 40-man roster spot. Thompson was claimed off waivers from the Kansas City Royals in late October.
Thompson, 25 played in 92 games for the Texas Rangers over the past two seasons. He batted. 242 with one homer and 13 RBIs. The Royals claimed Thompson off waivers from the Rangers in August.
