Whether Beyonce lip-synced or not in the Super Bowl 50 halftime show is debatable. Not up for debate, however, is the way her mention of Red Lobster restaurant caused their sales to surge, according to Hugh McIntyre of Forbes.
Red Lobster received a shout out when Beyonce sang her new song, “Formation.” In her song she mentions that at trip to Red Lobster is a treat for having done well in bed.
According to McIntyre, Red Lobster’s sales have increased by 33 percent since Sunday evening. And a spokesperson for the restaurant chain noted that Red Lobster, for the first time in history, actually began to trend on Twitter.
Monday evening Red Lobster posted this thank you message to @Beyonce for the uptick in business.
You definitely slay, @Beyonce. Thanks for one heck of a weekend. https://t.co/7IJfyl76k5

They also gave Beyonce a shout out of their own when Red Lobster hashtagged her Formation song in a tweet posted on Sunday evening.
“You try to bake Cheddar Bay Biscuits and tweet at the same time! #harderthanitlooks #Formation”
Not everyone was happy with the tone of Beyonce’s performance, but it’s an easy bet she gained a new Twitter follower in Red Lobster. Now who isn’t craving some of the garlic-flavored Cheddar Bay Biscuits?
