Baltimore Ravens rookie receiver Rashod Bateman will be sidelined “a number of weeks” with a leg injury, coach John Harbaugh told reporters Wednesday.
“He’s got a soft tissue, a leg issue that’s gonna be weeks, a number of weeks,” Harbaugh said. “I don’t know how many. It’s not going to be months, but it’ll be weeks and we’ll see where we’re at.”
The 21-year-old first-round draft pick limped off the practice field Tuesday with what was originally reported as a groin injury. He fell to the ground after making a cut while working against cornerback Marcus Peters.
Bateman will miss Baltimore’s preseason opener Saturday against the visiting New Orleans Saints. The Ravens open the regular season on the road against the Las Vegas Raiders on “Monday Night Football” on Sept. 13.
Bateman caught 147 passes for 2,395 yards and 19 touchdowns over three seasons at the University of Minnesota from 2018-20.
